A Typical Day?

We would say there is no typical day here at Ulovane. This is the wilds of Africa so anything is truly possible.

Days generally start early here in the bush. Sunrises and sunsets become the norm. You will never want to miss one again.

Breakfast is of course top of the morning list and this is taken out on the reserve or overlooking the beautiful plains just underneath our camp. If you are lucky you may even see the elephants or rhinos who are also often up and around early.

Some days will start with classroom lessons, others with a game drive or a walk out onto the reserve.

The bush is our main classroom so we try to do as much of our learning within the natural environment as possible. Students take it in turns to drive and your 4×4 skills will definitely improve during your time here.

Out on the reserve we spend our days looking at not just the animals but the environment as a whole. Tracking, Trees, Birds, Grasses, Flowers, clouds, and so much more….

The animals on the reserve over time have become very accustomed to our presence and allow us to enjoy amazing experiences amongst them. Animal behaviour is an important part of our general studies and this ensures that we keep our students and animals safe.

At night we will often do sleep-outs on the reserve and take night drives to look for nocturnal animals. Astronomy is also a must for these dark African nights.
